I want to share an eye tracking study by Jakob Nielsen, Ph.D. He is an author and User Advocate and principal of the Nielsen Norman Group. Jakob Nielsen did an eye-tracking survey and the surprising results were online visitors intentionally ignored stock images, completely disregarded them. The opposite was found when users know that a picture is real and authentic. The study showed they engaged and linger longer.
In this blog “The Effect of Mere Touch on Perceived Ownership” study by “Joann Peck & Suzanne B. Shu published by UCLA. This study found that when the imagery of an object was vivid and detailed, it increased their perceived ownership of the product.”
